BRAVING the raging rains that windy Saturday evening, from the moment guests stepped into the grand staircase leading to Cosmo Iloilo’s Punta Villa resort’s glittering crown Ballroom, it was apparent that they were in for an evening of Pomp and pageantry.

Luna, 2nd VP Susan Sollesta, 3rd VP Joemarie Agriam, Secretary Ma. Hildreth “Pinky” Coo, Assistant Sec. Ma. Ellen Dalisay, Treasurer Mary Tracy Celo-Javellana, Assistant Treas. Rene Asoy, Tail Twister Dr. Pacifico Dalisay, Lion Tamer Esperanza Larroza, PRO Joseph Abada, Auditor Victor Demaisip, and Membership Chairman Felix Villa Jr.
Also inducted were Directors for two years - Dr. Teresita Canja, Felix Uy, Johnny Chua, Jeanette Acabal; Directors for one year - PP and Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, PMJF, Ruby Celo, Ma. Grace Ormas, Phd., MJF and Julienne Baronda.
The lovely Lion ladies were in their eyecatching cocktail dresses and alluring evening gowns escorted by their Lion hubbies in fully embroidered barong tagalog or perfectly fitted dark suits made their way to the elegant Crown Ballroom draped with the official Lion colors of violet and yellow gold, dahlings!
Honored guest of the evening was 5th District of Iloilo Congressman Niel Tupas Jr. who spoke on Lionism’s universal ideals as the government’s strong partners through their volunteerisms in service to the impoverished members of our society.
One of the highlights of the meaningful evening was the grand coronation of ICHLC’s 2011 Queen Jan Maxine Palomata who was a stunner in her pristine white evening gown ably escorted by two debonair gentlemen, King consorts June Louie Reyes and Fitz Patrick Coo.
A grand ‘palabas’ performed by ICHLC members and Leo officers and members set a jovial entertainment. Immediately after, everyone hit the dancefloor with enthusiasm inspired by the most sought-after Totong Villaruz Band. (Photos by Yolly Deirit)
