DESPITE government's assurance that there is no shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), many are having a hard time buying LPG.

A long line of trucks remains at the Liquigaz plant in Bataan, waiting for supply to arrive.

Some taxi drivers in Baguio also complain. The LPG shortage has affected their job.

In areas where LPG tanks are sold, residents complain. Price for an 11 kilogram tank has risen up to P850.

“Hindi inaamin ng Department of Energy (DOE) na me problema so hindi nila ginawan ng solusyon ang problemang ito kaya umabot ito hanggang sa consumer,” said Rep. Arnel Ty of the LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA) party-list.

The DOE earlier assured households of ample LPG supply, claiming that only independent players are having troubles in supply.

“There is enough supply of LPG in the country, including Metro Manila and nearby provinces,” the department said in a statement.

The DOE said the major players have adequate supply of LPG, although some outlets encountered delivery problems because of the recent floods. (ABS-CBNnews.com with a report from the Philippine Star)

“FEAR nothing; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified.  He has been raised again; he is not here!” That was what the angel told Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome (the mother of James and John) when they went to the burial site of Jesus Christ. Read more...

EASTER SUNDAY (Year A)

Gospel reading: John 20,1-9

WE SEE opposing representations of women in the Bible. In the Old Testament they are sometimes considered as subordinate to men and as enjoying an inferior legal position (cf. Gen 12:12-20; 20:2; 19:8; Jgs 19:24-27; etc.), while in other passages they are presented as having high social position and dignity. Read more...

‘Father, forgive them…’

April 17, 2014 02:16 AM

By: Ranie Z. Jangayo

ACTS of sacrifice are most common among Catholic devotees and believers of Jesus this Holy Week. As Christians, some fast and abstain from worldly pleasures as their way of reflecting this Lenten Season. But others are inflicting physical pain to themselves as a way of atonement for their sinful acts.
